Reek Da Villian Recalls Getting Put On By Busta Rhymes
In October, Reek Da Villian held down a spot in BET Awards Freestyle Cipher segment alongside Mickey Factz and Zawcain. And while the notoriety that came with the appearance surely helped, Reek credits a much less desirable appearance for jump starting his Hip Hop career.
“Jail was the best thing that happened for me,” Reek recently told the New York Daily News. “When you go to jail it’s just you, you’re by yourself. “You have to meet new people, learn how to become friends with strangers and pick out who’s good and bad, and overall it just turned me into a man and it showed me what I didn’t want to do.”
Upon his release in 2004, Reek completed his bachelor’s degree and began pursuing a Rap career. He ran into Busta Rhymes in a Long Island clothing store a few years later, and freestyled on the spot for about five minutes in hopes of getting an A-list co-sign.
“He didn’t come off to me like the regular—you hear a lot of dudes all the time,” Busta explained. “He made sure the impression he left was an everlasting one. And that’s how I felt.”
Apparently the feeling wasn’t initially mutual. Reek was in disbelief when Busta Rhymes called him to follow up on the impromptu freestyle.
“I called his ass and he hung up on me,” Busta Rhymes added. “He thought I was a prank caller!”
These days everything’s serious. Busta enlisted the likes of Swizz Beatz to help Reek with his upcoming debut. In addition, to Busta and Swizz, Reek got a cast of all stars including Nelly, Method Man, DJ Khaled, Cam’ron and Vado to appear on his most recent mixtape, The Gift.
Pharrell Talks Recording New Album By The Neptunes
Pharrell has been keeping himself busy lately touring with N.E.R.D. opening for Gorillaz on a global tour and working on various projects but the work with his main group seems to be his focus now.. He says, ““I’ve just been all over the place from project to project. Right now, I’m working on lil’ Neptunes music.” While no release date or title has been revealed the Virginia Beach producer would say, “This new Neptunes record we’re working on right now is vicious. It’s definitely harder – it just demands sweat.” One high profile guest looking likely to make the record are French Disco icons Daft Punk. “Working with Daft Punk – they’ve been our buddies for like 10 years, and watching those guys work is pretty amazing,” Pharrell said, “They make great beats and it was cool to collaborate with them.”
Pharrell and Hugo’s other group, the aforementioned N.E.R.D., released their fourth album, Nothing, in November.

Jay-Z Meets With Warren Buffett and Steve Forbes
Jay-Z was recently spotted out in Omaha, Nebraska at the Hollywood Diner to chat with billionaire investor Warren Buffett and Editor-in-Chief and publisher of Forbes magazine. Although Forbes magazine is keeping tight lipped, the resulting conversation of this meeting is apparently set to appear in the magazine's upcoming "400 Richest People in the World" issue.
To some, the trio of Buffett, Forbes and Hov may appear strange, reports indicate that the Roc Nation emcee is apparently worth an hefty $150 million. Although that's close to $900 million short of making Jay eligible for the magazine's list, it has led many to speculate that the three moguls "...talked about some of Buffett's favorite topics: money and philanthropy." Trennen sich Bone Thugs N Harmony? | ||
| ||
THIS MAY BE A SAD DAY FOR ALOT OF BONE FANS BUT MY LIFE HAS BEEN MISERABLE BECAUSE I PUT UP WITH IT. WHY? BECAUSE I LOVE OUR FANS. CHOOSE A SIDE I WANT WAR. NI**AZ BETTER DO WHAT THEY DO BEST AND HIDE WHILE I FIGHT. REAL N**A S**T. Worum es bei dem Familienstreit letztendlich geht ist allerdings ein bisschen unklar, doch scheinen die Gebete von Layzie erhört worden zu sein, denn nun verabschiedete sich Krayzie bei seinen Anhängern ,it folgender Meldung: “DOA, ITS SOMETHING IM WILLING TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!“ “I JUST TOOK GOOD ADVICE AND PRAYED ABOUT IT. MY REVELATION IS FAKE N***AZ GOTTA GO. AS LONG AS I LIVE BONE WILL REMAIN. NOT LAYZIE BONE. BONE“ Wieviel Wahrheit in dem Trennungsgerücht steckt bleibt abzuwarten, denn bisher ist allHipHop.com die einzige Informationsquelle zu diesem Thema. Weder auf Facebook ist von den vermeidlichen Posts noch etwas zu sehen, noch ist irgendwo die anstehende Clubtour als gecancelt gemeldet – und diese startet schließlich schon am 22. Septembe |

Breakin News Foxy Brown Sentenced To A Year On Rikers
Judge Melissa Jackson slammed Foxy’s pleas for mercy, calling her a “great actress,” and saying that if this were the first time she’d apologized, she might be believable, but not now. We’re told that Foxy was visibly distraught by the verdict.
It now appears that Inga will have her baby in prison if she does serve her full term. If she’s well behaved Foxy will be eligable for parole in May /June 2008.

Jay-z is a fake drug dealer according to the black Calvin Klein.
Calvin Klein has a bit a bit of a bitch about ‘ol Jay-Z. The dude who spent years in prison has now made good with real estate deals, his own record label, and tour manager for Akon. He holds a half beef with Jay-Z because Jay promised the hook ups but didn’t deliver. So he’s a bit of a hater.
Check what he had to say about Hov:
“In the 80’s, Jay wasn’t trying to be a drug dealer he was tryna be a rapper but in order for him to transcend himself into this hell of a dude, he had to take characters from the 80’s like myself…. To me Jay‘s a white boy on the inside , no offense to any white boys but to me he’s white boy on the inside and I’m waiting for time to tell what he’s gonna do with the outside of himself ,” Klein continued. ” I’m surprised he should have done himself a favor and pout me on his team . How you gon let Akon pull me in , official Konvict. Akon provided the chance and an opportunity for guys like myself , Jay could have done that out the gate but he didn’t.”
Did anyone really believe all Jay-Z raps is real? Rappers is largely like cartoon characters from the beginning - or a nitro wrestler - living fake fantasy lifestyles through video. And Jay-Z was one of the best at this game.
Like Ice-T said “Yo if you think I’m really a cop killer thats like thinking David Bowie is really an Astronaut.”
Bottom line though, Jay-Z grew up in the Marcy Projects and is now worth over 300 million dollars.Check the rest of this story: Interview.

JAY-Z IS HEADIN TO COLOMBIA RECORDS
New York Media sources are reporting a music industry insider has tipped them off with the information that the current CEO of (Island) Def Jam, Jay-Z, is looking to leave the label and follow Rick Ruban to take up a position at Columbia Records. This information has been fueling speculation that the reason for the move may be caused by Jermaine Dupri who recently landed the position of President of the Island Urban Music Division.
Sources say, “There isn’t room for two kings at one label,” says a source. “Why would Island bring in another power-hitter urban guy?”
The facts speak for themselves; JD brings Janet Jackson to the label whilst Rick Ruban, who has worked very closely with Jay-z and was a co-founder or Def Jam with Russel Simmons, left the Warner Music Group in May and is Columbia’s current co-chairman.
Both Coumbia Records and Island Def Jam refused to comment on the situation.
DR DRE SUES DEATH ROW RECORDS
Dr Dre has sued Death Row Records and its Bankruptcy Trustee for the Rights to The Chronic
dr dre sues death row the chronic
Dr Dre has sued Death Row Records for moneys owed and the rights to The Chronic.
Originally the good Doctor had signed an agreement that Death Row Records would retain the rights when he left in 1996 as long as he received royalties, but failed payments and a notice to Death Row Records now mean that the agreement is null and the rights full back to Aftermath according to Dr Dre’s attorneys.
Recently Tupac’s mom forced an injunction on Death Row Records after an attempt by Death Row to sell an album of unreleased material.
Meanwhile Dr Dre’s Detox has been set back.
